Packaging service terms
What you agree to when you ask us to package a theme for you.
These terms cover the Install this theme form on this site and the packaging service behind it, both run by Doghouse. They do not cover the theme itself: GovTheme is open-source software, and your rights to it come from its licence, not from us (see What you receive below). Ticking the box on the form means you accept these terms and have read our privacy notice.
These terms took effect on 11 September 2026.
What the service does
You customise GovTheme in the live preview (colours, type, shape, header and menu style) and tell us where you plan to run it. We take that configuration, bake it into a copy of the current GovTheme release, and email you a link to download the result as a zip. That is the whole service: it saves you applying the configuration by hand. It is free, and there is nothing to buy.
Someone at Doghouse may follow up about GovTheme after you download. The details you give us and what we do with them are set out in the privacy notice.
Nothing happens until you confirm
Submitting the form sends you an email with a confirmation link. No theme is built, no download link is issued and nobody contacts you until you click it. If you never click it, the request lapses and is deleted. Download links stop working a week after the package is built, so download it when it arrives.
What you receive
The zip contains the GovTheme Drupal theme with your configuration baked in. Like Drupal itself, GovTheme is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPL-2.0-or-later). The full licence text is in the file LICENSE.txt at the top of the zip, and you can also read it on gnu.org.
In plain terms: you can use the theme for any purpose, change it, and pass it on, as long as anything you pass on stays under the same licence with its source available. You owe no fee and there is nothing to register. The GPL asks nothing of you for simply installing and running the theme on your own sites, and ticking the box on our form does not add any condition to it: the box is about this service, not the software.
The fonts bundled with the theme are separate works under the SIL Open Font License; their licence file travels with them inside the zip.
Hosted and managed options
Doghouse also offers hosted and managed ways to run GovTheme, such as Doghouse SaaS and migration services. Those are quoted and agreed separately and are not part of this service or these terms. Asking for a packaged theme does not commit you to any of them.
Provided as is
The packaging service is provided as is. We aim to keep it available and to produce a correct package every time, but we do not promise either, and we may change, pause or withdraw the service without notice.
The theme you download is covered by the GPL's own no-warranty terms: it comes without warranty of any kind, and Doghouse is not liable for how you use it or for anything that goes wrong when you do.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement. To the extent the law allows, and subject to those non-excludable rights, Doghouse's liability in connection with the packaging service is excluded.
Acceptable use
The service is for people who want a theme for a site they run or build. Please use it that way. To keep it available for everyone, we limit how often one person or one address can submit the form, and we may refuse or drop requests that look automated, repetitive or otherwise not from a person who wants a theme. If you hit a limit while testing, wait a while and try again, or get in touch.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. A request you submit is covered by the terms in force at the time you submit it.
